Imran, a Pakistani national who harbors an unwavering dedication to academic pursuits, is a distinguished physics researcher. This year, with the professional assistance of Mr. Su's team, he successfully gained admission to the doctoral program in Physics at Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen) and was awarded a full scholarship, marking a significant milestone in his academic journey.

During his master's studies at Ludong University in China, Imran achieved an impressive GPA of 3.4/4 through his solid professional foundation and diligent work ethic, a result that not only highlights his potential in the field of physics but also serves as a crucial cornerstone for his application to pursue doctoral studies.

In October 2024, by sheer chance, Imran came across a video shared by Mr. Su that detailed experiences in studying abroad applications, and the video's in-depth analysis of China's higher education system, precise introduction to the professional strengths of various universities, and clear breakdown of the application process brought much-needed clarity to Imran, who was then struggling with the confusion of choosing a university. As a result, he immediately decided to contact our team, hoping that with the support of professional expertise, he could smoothly embark on his doctoral studies.

After making contact with our team, Imran displayed great caution before signing the contract, for he was fully aware that studying abroad applications are pivotal to the direction of one's future academic path and thus dared not treat the matter lightly. He proceeded to raise a series of questions, ranging from the specific timeline for preparing application materials to contingency plans for unexpected situations that might arise during the application process, and even inquired about details such as the focus of scholarship applications at different institutions and the connection between doctoral courses and research projects, all of which were addressed by our team's consultant, Lulu, with patience and detailed, professional answers.

During the initial communication, Imran clearly articulated his goal of applying for a doctoral program in Physics at Peking University and Tsinghua University, two top-tier institutions. At the same time, considering the need for diversified applications and rational time planning, our team, after discussions with Imran, decided to simultaneously advance applications to other institutions, including Shenzhen University, Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen), and the University of Science and Technology of China.

Imran's cautious approach to selecting a university stems from his sense of responsibility and consideration for his family: his wife is from Shandong, China, and both of them are well aware of the impact that region and living environment can have on both studies and family life. Therefore, when choosing a doctoral institution, Imran not only focused on the academic strength of the university but also attached great importance to the campus atmosphere, living convenience, and future development prospects, hoping that while pursuing his academic ideals, he could create a stable and comfortable living environment for his family.

Upon gaining a thorough understanding of Imran's needs, Lulu, our team's consultant, took prompt action by first conducting a comprehensive review of Imran's academic background, which included the projects he participated in at Ludong University, the two academic papers on condensed matter physics that he published, and his achievements in various academic competitions. In response to the application requirements of Peking University and Tsinghua University, Lulu guided Imran in refining his application materials one by one, from crafting a personal statement that highlights his research achievements to formulating a research plan that demonstrates his academic potential, and even assisting in contacting recommenders to write recommendation letters, with every aspect handled with meticulous attention to excellence.

In early November, with our assistance, Imran completed his doctoral application to Shenzhen University, Lulu helped Imran find a suitable supervisor, provided corresponding interview guidance, and ultimately, he successfully obtained the supervisor's acceptance letter from Shenzhen University.

Also in November, exciting news arrived as Imran received an interview invitation from a renowned physics professor at Tsinghua University, a development that filled both Imran and our team with enthusiasm, as we all hoped he would seize this precious opportunity.

However, perhaps due to excessive nervousness or insufficient preparation for certain cutting-edge issues, Imran's performance in the interview fell short of expectations, and he ultimately, regrettably, failed to obtain an acceptance letter from a supervisor at Tsinghua University. Upon learning of this result, Imran fell into low spirits and even felt a sense of discouragement.

In accordance with the established plan, shortly after the conclusion of the Tsinghua interview, we launched the application to the University of Science and Technology of China in December, an institution that holds an undisputedly top position in the field of physics and has long been the subject of Imran's aspirations, as he hoped to make up for the regret of failing to gain admission to Tsinghua through this application.

In early January, we successfully received the admission notice from Shenzhen University, but after in-depth communication with his family and careful consideration of his own academic plans, coupled with issues related to insufficient document preparation, Imran ultimately made the decision to give up this opportunity.

When February 2025 arrived, we received the final response from the University of Science and Technology of China: despite our team's repeated efforts to assist Imran in communicating with several supervisors at the university, introducing his academic background and research potential, Imran ultimately failed to obtain a recommendation letter from a supervisor at the University of Science and Technology of China due to the extremely fierce competition in this field and the fact that some supervisors had no enrollment quotas at that time, bringing the application to an end. This experience made Imran more acutely aware of the uncertainties involved in applying to top institutions, and the successive setbacks took a toll on his confidence, prompting us to communicate with him again, help him analyze the current application situation, emphasize the reliability of the backup plan, and encourage him to adjust his mindset to embrace new opportunities.

After going through a series of setbacks, including the failure in the Tsinghua interview, the obstacles encountered in the application to the University of Science and Technology of China, and the decision to give up Shenzhen University, we immediately shifted our focus to Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen) (hereinafter referred to as HITSZ), which holds a high priority in the backup plan. Lulu promptly contacted several supervisors at HITSZ and, via email, provided them with a detailed introduction to Imran's academic achievements and research potential, and one of the supervisors, who has made remarkable achievements in the field of quantum computing, showed great interest in the experimental projects that Imran had participated in and soon sent an interview invitation to him. Drawing on previous experiences, Imran adjusted his mindset and made more thorough preparations this time, and during the two rounds of interviews, he remained calm and composed, answered the professional questions raised by the supervisor fluently, clearly expounded his research ideas and future plans, and demonstrated a solid professional foundation and excellent scientific research literacy, thereby winning high recognition from the supervisor and successfully obtaining the supervisor's acceptance letter.

In May 2025, we received the admission notice from Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen), and to our greater delight, Imran was also awarded a full scholarship along with an additional annual living allowance of 50,000 yuan, which not only resolved his tuition and living expenses but also enabled him to fully dedicate himself to scientific research.

As a top technical university, although HITSZ lags slightly behind Tsinghua University and Peking University in terms of comprehensive ranking, its strength in science and engineering is undeniable, and especially with the support of Shenzhen, a city renowned for technological innovation, it boasts unique scientific research resources and industrial cooperation opportunities, making it highly popular among students both at home and abroad. For Imran, the research platform, supervisor resources, and academic atmosphere here can all provide strong support for his academic development.

At the moment he received the admission notice, Imran excitedly called Lulu, his words filled with joy and gratitude, and he expressed that although he felt a tinge of regret for not being admitted to Tsinghua, HITSZ is also an excellent platform, and he was very satisfied to continue his physics research here. Our team was also delighted for Imran, as helping him realize his dream of pursuing a doctorate is our greatest wish.
